Vortex Rings

Vortex rings, or more common smoke rings are something I think are really quite cool. The awesome thing about them is that they’re essentially a torus (doughnut shape) formed from a rotating tube of fluid. The fluid moves from the back, is pushed through the center and then curves back around again due to the low pressure zone it created as it moved forward creating a self sustaining vortex.

These are most commonly visualized as either bubbles in water (a play thing of dolphins) or as rings of smoke (a play thing of hipsters), but this phenomena is found else where. Firstly it’s what creates good old nuclear mushroom clouds by sucking air into the head of it along it’s also responsible for the terrifying meteorological event known as a microburst where air descends rapidly and pushes everything below it aside. Awesomely vortex rings are also found in your heart, as blood is pulled into your left ventricle it forms one of these vortices. Neat huh?

Things

There are

    Tales to be told

    Songs to be sung

Music for the ears who lust for passion

There are

    Blue skies

    and vibrant lights

Sights to be seen with an appreciation simply for being

There are

    Feelings of joy

    feelings of love

Emotions to bring rainbow tears to the pits of your eyes

There are

    Sights to be seen

    Sounds to be heard

Passion pouring through the cracks like mist or smoke through the bricks,

colored in what can only be described as beauty itself.

There are

    Eyes out there

    Soft and warm

There are

    Smiles

    Infectious creases

Pitted across the most joyous of faces, radiating the very souls of both the

     owner and imbiber.

There are

    Things.

Things that words, nor sights, nor sounds can invoke.

Things that swell from the cores of those who truly feel.

Amplified and luminous like a soft sun,

like gentile passion vibrating on a string.

    Things that are great.

I can feel these things, like shadows feel buildings.

I know they are there.

I know they are just out of reach of my imagination, but ever present.

There are

    Things that everyone can see,

    but not me.
